Handball in Olympic Games
HANDBALL TOURNAMENT :PARTICIPANTS AND VENUES

The Olympic Handball Tournament starts on the 14th and ends on the 29th of August 2004. It is expected that 330 male and female players as well as a technical group of 76 people referees, delegates, observers, etc will participate in this tournament.

The games will be hosted in the new build stadiums, the Sports Pavillion (capacity 8.000) in the Faliron Coastal Zone Olympic Complex and in the Indoor Arena (capacity 10.000) of the Hellinikon Olympic Complex.

The participating teams 12 men and 10 women are the following:

TOURNAMENT & SCHEDULE

The teams will be divided into 2 pools after a draw that will take place in Athens on the 27th of March 2004. In the preliminaries the teams will play round robin inside the individual pools. Then, the teams according to their ranking will face their opponents from the other pool in a cross system. The winners will continue to play until 2 teams qualify for the final while the losers will be playing ranking matches for the respective places.

TICKETS
The tickets are issued per session per day and are divided to A and B categories. Tickets can be purchased from the games organizing committee "Athens 2004" after written application.
